ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday into Saturday morning, along with a preview of conditions next week.

Partly cloudy skies will remain through the overnight hours.

Lows will be in the mid 70s inland and near 80 at the coast. Because the water temperature sits at about 90 this time of year, morning lows don't drop that much with a breeze off the gulf.

Saturday will bring the same onshore breeze, but there won’t be quite as many storms. There may be a few showers or storms in the morning near the coast.

Any storms will move generally southeast through the day. Most storms will be east of I-75 by the late afternoon. Highs will be near 90 near the coast to low 90s inland.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid to upper 70s.

The winds shift starting Sunday, bringing a pattern change to the area. Instead of winds coming in from the west, the winds will come from the east.

That will mean the morning is quiet with lots of sunshine, but then the best chance of storms will come later in the day into the evening. The best coverage will converge on our side of the state.

Highs will reach the low 90s.

That wind pattern will settle in for most of next week. The coverage of storms will vary a bit from day to day, but the wind pattern will be consistent, and therefore the timing of the storms will mainly be in the afternoon to evening each day next week.

Highs will also be a little higher next week as a result, with most days reaching the low to mid 90s.
