The roof of the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride caught fire at Disney's Magic Kingdom Thursday night.
Reedy Creek Fire said sparks from the nighttime fireworks show landed on top of the roof of the ride's building.
The fire department said the foliage on top of the building caught fire, but witnesses said it spread to the rock work. Fire crews were able to put it out with a fire extinguisher.
Witnesses also said the New Fantasyland area where the ride is located was evacuated, but Reedy Creek would not confirm that.
No one was hurt. The ride was back open.
