STATEWIDE — Millions of Floridians have already cast ballots with just two days to go until Tuesday’s primary election.

While there are many early voting locations in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida areas, a lot of voters opted to stay home and cast their votes by mail instead.

Counties across the state have seen a surge in mail voting, with Democrats taking the lead in the number of mail ballots cast so far.

In fact, almost 600,000 more mail ballots were cast this year compared to the 2018 primary election.

Political experts say school board races could be impacted by recent events, like the response to COVID-19 and reopening schools.
