ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Florida day care worker was hit by a stray bullet while sitting outside her school.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says the woman was wounded Tuesday afternoon outside Scholar's Prep Academy in Orlando. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

Detectives say two vehicles near the day care were involved in a shooting and one of their bullets struck the day care worker.

Officials say one of the people in the vehicles is cooperating with investigators.
