TAMPA, Fla. -- The first pieces of track for the upcoming launch coaster Tigris have arrived at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

  • Tigris is set to debut spring 2019

The theme park shared new photos of the track on its official Twitter account.

"Say hello to the first track pieces of Tigris...it can only go up from here," the tweet said.

Once completed, Tigris will be the tallest launch coaster in Florida. Riders will race along 1,800 feet of steel track at more than 60 mph. 

The coaster will feature multiple drops, a 150-foot skyward surge and and inverted heartline roll.

Last month, Busch Gardens revealed what the ride vehicle would look like

Tigris is expected to debut at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in spring 2019.
