TAMPA, Fla. — Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will ring in the new year with a modified celebration that keeps safety in mind.

The theme park will be offering two options for visitors who want to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Visitors can sign up to for one of two limited-capacity sessions: visiting during the day or later in the evening. With the daytime reservation slot, visitors can be in the park between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. For the nighttime option, visitors can be in the park between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m.

The daytime session features rides, animal encounters, and some elements of Christmas Town. The nighttime session features rides, animal encounters, Christmas Town, Christmas on Ice show, and fireworks.

For those who want to celebrate New Year’s Eve with fireworks, Busch Gardens will offer two presentations of its Sparks the Night Fireworks show: one at 8:30 p.m. and the other at 11:30 p.m. To get access to Festival Field for the fireworks, visitors must purchase a separate reservation in advance.

Visitors who don’t want to reserve Festival Field access can catch the fireworks at a number of locations around the park.

Since reopening this summer, Busch Gardens has implemented a number of health and safety measures because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In addition to enhanced cleaning procedures, the theme park also requires face coverings and temperature checks.
