WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Legoland Florida will soon transform its Miniland USA by installing shade structures over the area.

What You Need To Know

  • Legoland adding shade structures to Miniland USA area

  • Theme park shared rendering of what the structures will look like

  • Project expected to be completed by the summer

Work on the project will start next week and is expected to be completed by the summer, Legoland said in a Twitter post, which also included a rendering of what the shade structures will look like. Legoland first revealed plans to add the structures last year.

The structures will cover the entire area, making things a little cooler for visitors and providing relief from the Florida sun as they explore Miniland USA. The area features miniature Lego replicas of U.S. cities and landmarks such as the New York City, Las Vegas, the White House and Kennedy Space Center.

The project comes as Legoland Florida marks its 10th anniversary this year. The Winter Haven park also plans to celebrate new shows and events, including the Brickbeards’s Watersports Stunt Show and the PirateFest Weekends, which both debut February 12.
