  • SeaWorld recommending visitors wear masks while indoors

  • The policy applies to its Florida parks including Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

  • Disney World has taken a different approach and is requiring maks be worn indoors

In an update on its website, the Orlando, Fla.-based company said mask would be recommended in designated indoor spaces for visitors and employees.

“The safety of our guests, Ambassadors and animals in our care remains our top priority,” the company said in a statement to Spectrum News. “Consistent with CDC guidance, we recommend that our guests wear face coverings while indoors.”

The policy applies to SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

SeaWorld is taking a different approach to its mask policy that competitor Disney World. On Wednesday, Disney announced that all guests ages 2 and older will have wear masks while indoors and throughout attractions, regardless of vaccination status. The rule went into effect Friday.

Universal Orlando is also not requiring visitors to wear masks indoors instead “encouraging” them to do so. Universal employees however will be required to wear masks while working indoors in guest areas, starting Saturday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention earlier this week recommended that fully vaccinated people wear masks while in public indoor settings to help prevent the spread of the Delta variant.

Florida has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.
