ORLANDO, Fla. — Just weeks after Disney announced a new pass program for Disneyland, the company has revealed brand-new annual passes for Disney World, which will include tiered park pass reservations.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney World to roll out new annual passes

  • The new passes will go on sale Sept. 8

  • The passes have new names and different benefits

  • New perks include ability to hold more park pass reservations, "bonus" park reservations

Sales of the passes, which have been paused since last year when Disney World closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume Sept. 8, Disney said. When they do, people will notice four new pass options: Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Sorcerer Pass, Disney Pirate Pass and Disney Pixie Dust Pass.

The new passes will still include perks such as the park hopping option, standard parking and discounts on dining and merchandise. But for some passholders, they will come with new perks such as the ability to hold more park pass reservations at a time. Previously, all passholders were limited to three reservations at a time unless staying at a Disney resort hotel.

Here's a look at the four new annual pass types:

Disney Incredi-Pass, priced at $1,299 plus tax ($99/month), will have no blockout dates. It includes access to one or more Disney World theme parks on the same day with a park reservation. Passholders will be able to hold up to five park reservations at a time.

Disney Sorcerer Pass, priced at $899 plus tax ($63/month) and available only to Florida residents and DVC members, will have blockout dates during select holiday periods. It include access to one or more Disney World theme parks on most days with a park reservation. Passholders will be able to hold up to five park reservations at a time.

Disney Pirate Pass, priced at $699 plus tax ($45/month) and available only to Florida residents, will have blockout dates during peak and holiday periods. It includes access to one or more Disney World theme parks on most days with a park reservation. Passholders will be able to hold up to four park reservations at a time.

Disney Pixie Dust Pass, priced at $399 ($19/month) and available only to Florida residents, will have blockout dates including peak and holiday periods. It will include access to one or more Disney World theme parks on most weekdays with a park reservation. Passholders will be able to hold up to three park reservations at a time.

All passes can be customized with different add-ons, including Disney PhotoPass downloads and the Water Park and Sports option. Each option will cost $99 plus tax for the year. Previously, those options were included with certain pass levels.

As part of the revamp, Disney is rolling out a new integrated calendar for passholders that not only shows park pass availability but also blockout dates. Passholders will also have the ability to make, modify or cancel a reservation all in once place.

Another new perk for passholders will be what Disney is calling "bonus" park reservations, which will be available at different times and not count against a passholders pass limit. The bonus reservations will be added to the calendar but Disney didn't share specific dates.

The new annual passes replace the previous types: Platinum Plus, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Theme Park Select, Weekday Select and Epcot After 4.

Current passholders with those pass types will still be able to use their passes like before, Disney said. However, when it's time for them to renew their annual pass, they will have to select one of the new options.

And on Sept. 8, current passholders will automatically receive the additional park pass reservation limit, Disney said. For Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold, the new limit will be five park passes at a time. For Silver, the limit will be four. And for Theme Park, Weekday Select, and Epcot After 4, the limit will remain at three.

Passholders staying at a Disney resort hotel will still be able to hold park reservations each day of their stay in addition to the number of reservations for their pass type.

Florida residents will still have the option to pay for their annual pass on a monthly basis, Disney said.

In addition to the new passes, Disney World is giving the passholder program a new look that harkens back to the past. The new logo design will incorporate Mickey Mouse and the retro Disney World logo. Eventually, other characters will be featured in the logo.

The new annual passes arrive ahead of Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration, which kicks off Oct. 1. Disney said there will be a few "special surprises" for passholders throughout the celebration but didn't give specifics. Although, current passholders should expect to receive a new exclusive magnet "soon."

Disney said the changes to its passholder program was based on feedback and to give passholders more "flexibility and choice."

The new annual passes are the latest changes Disney has revealed for its parks and resorts.

In January, the company announced the end of its complimentary Magical Express bus service, which provides transportation to and from Orlando International Airport and Disney resort hotels. And earlier this month, it shared details about a new service that it would be launching this fall called Disney Genie. The service will also feature a free planning tool and Genie+, a paid system that replaces FastPass+ at Disney World and Disneyland.
