ORLANDO, Fla. — As 2022 comes to a close, Central Florida’s theme parks and attractions will ring in 2023 with different celebrations.

In addition to rides, live music and food, the parks plan to added New Year’s Eve festivities to the lineup, including fireworks.

If you’re thinking about ringing in the new year at the parks, here’s what they have planned.

BUSCH GARDENS TAMPA BAY

In addition to its Christmas Town festivities, Busch Gardens will have a special fireworks show on Dec. 31.

The New Year’s Eve fireworks are scheduled to begin at 11:59 p.m. The park will be open until 1 a.m.

FUN SPOT AMERICA

Fun Spot will hold “huge” New Year’s Eve fireworks celebrations at midnight at both its Orlando and Kissimmee parks.

ICON PARK

ICON Park’s NYE celebration will include a live DJ and a light show on The Wheel. The festivities will take place on the lawn area of the entertainment complex from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Some of the venues at ICON Park will have their own NYE celebrations including Tapa Toro, Tin Roof Orlando, Ole Red and Brother Jimmy’s.

LEGOLAND FLORIDA

Legoland will hold a kid-friendly celebration on New Year’s Eve. The festivities will include a DJ dance park in Lego Technic, a “brick drop” near Lake Eloise and 3D Lego brick fireworks at 8 p.m.

SEAWORLD ORLANDO

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is still underway, but the park plans to ring in the new year with a fireworks celebration on Dec. 31.

The Holiday Reflections fireworks are scheduled to begin at 11:59 p.m.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO

Universal’s Holidays celebration continues through Jan. 1 and includes Universal’s Holiday Parade, Grinchmas and Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But for New Year’s Eve festivities, those visiting Universal Studios Florida can ring in the new year with live music and a DJ in the park’s Music Plaza area. There will also be special character appearances. The park will be open until 1 a.m.

Several Universal Orlando hotels will have their own NYE celebrations, including Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel.

WALT DISNEY WORLD

For New Year’s Eve, Disney World is keeping three of its theme parks open late. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT will be open until 1 a.m., while Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open until midnight.

The festivities will include Fantasy in the Sky fireworks at Magic Kingdom at 6:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m., with the last show including a countdown to 2023. DJ dance parties will also be located throughout the park. 

At EPCOT, different country pavilions around the World Showcase will host DJ dance parties. And at 11:54 p.m., visitors can start counting down to the new year with the Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration fireworks show. 

In addition to a DJ dance party in front of Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, there will also be a "sizzling countdown moment" for visitors.
