TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies are working to track down a suspected gunman after he was accused of shooting and killing his neighbor on Sunday evening.

At around 6:30 p.m., in the uptown district of Tampa on 19th Street North, neighbors at an apartment complex heard gunshots.

When deputies arrived, they learned a man was shot and was taken by someone to AdventHealth Tampa on 3100 East Fletcher Ave., where he was pronounced dead, authorities stated.

Deputies are currenlty looking for the gunman, identified as Kendrick James, 31, and a burgundy 2015 Nissan Altima with a Florida tag: JJQ-K38.

Authorities said James and the victim got into an altercation, and at some point the victim was shot. 

The name of the victim has not been released.
