Will schools in Hillsborough County stay open? That's the big question, after the district announced an emergency meeting.

Superintendent Addison Davis and School Board Chair Melissa Snively said the meeting will take place at 8 a.m. on Friday, August 28.

It was announced after Judge Charles Dodson blocked the stay of his ruling that gives local districts control over reopening schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

That ruling was the result of a lawsuit filed by the Florida Education Assocation, the state's largest teachers union.
