TAMPA, Fla. — Organizers of Tampa Bay Comic Convention announced Wednesday that the 2020 show has been canceled due to the recent rise in positive COVID-19 cases in the Bay area.

In a Facebook post, the convention cited unease on the part of City of Tampa leaders with the idea of going forward with the show, an unease the organizers shared.

The show was originally scheduled to go on the weekend of July 10-12 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Organizers said any pre-purchased tickets or purchased booth space for vendors would have their purchases tranferred to next year's show, slated for July 30 - August 1.
