We examine the growing issue of elder abuse within our community.  The Orange County Sheriff’s office says this is a continued and growing concern for them. Abuse comes in several forms – physical, sexual, neglect, mental and exploitation. We explore who is behind these acts of abuse, when, what and how to report suspected crimes and methods of prevention, as well as policy-making to prevent and respond to elder abuse. Guest include: Laura Lang ( Orange County Sheriff’s Office , Senior Advocate/Senior Crime Prevention Programs Coordinator), Christina Rabago (Fl. Elder Crime Prevention Practitioner), Rep. Mike LaRosa (Director of Public Guardianship at the Osceola Council on Aging) Rep. Kathleen Peters (Elder Affairs committee).
