1. St. Pete mayor set to give update on Tropicana Field development 
Mayor Ken Welch is set to give an update on the redevelopment of Tropicana Field. The redevelopment deal is set to transform the 86-acre Trop site.

2. Officer's widow sues state, contractor for husband's death
Danyelle Madsen, wife of the Tampa Police Officer who sacrificed his life crashing into a wrong way driver last year, is suing the Florida Department of Transportation and one of its contractors. Lawyers for Master Officer Jesse Madsen’s family are pointing to a wrong way detection device at the offramp to Busch Boulevard. In the lawsuit, they claim it malfunctioned, which led to Officer Madsen taking drastic actions that cost him his life.

3. 2-alarm fire displaces residents in Tampa's Bayshore district
Multiple people were displaced after an apartment fire in Tampa's Bayshore disctrict. Fire crews responded to the two-alarm fire about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and forced the closure of South Carolina Avenue. Thick, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from Kansas Avenue Apartments. No residents or firefighters were injured, according to Tampa Fire Rescue

4. Hillsborough GOP House member wants state to ban all abortions
While Gov. Ron DeSantis hasn’t spoken out specifically if he intends to push for abortions restrictions in Florida beyond the 15-week ban that will become law on Friday, one Hillsborough County Republican state Representative is clarifying that he’d like to see the state pass legislation to ban all abortions in the state.

5. Florida one of 3 states with highest rates for new HIV diagnoses
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's latest HIV data available from 2019 shows Florida as being one of three states in the country with the highest rates for new HIV diagnoses.  In Tampa Bay, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties have long been hot spots for new HIV cases in Florida and health experts are warning that once the new numbers are in we’re going to see even more spikes in certain communities. In Central Florida, the hardest hit counties are Orange and Osceola.
