A Lake County community is showing off pieces of history saved from being demolished in an old long-standing bank building.

A collection of murals from the old Citizens National Bank of Leesburg is on display at the Leesburg Center for the Arts.

The murals, called the Wall of Florida History, were preserved by Lake Glass and Mirror and restored with the help from members of the community, the city said, before the building was torn down.

The collection, featuring 12 eight foot tall murals depicting parts of Florida’s history, will be on display until Dec. 7.

The show is part of Florida’s Viva Florida 500 celebration, which marks Florida’s 500th anniversary in 2013.
