An 86-year-old man suffered fatal injuries in a vehicle crash Saturday after experiencing a medical emergency in a health center parking lot, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to troopers, Peter A. Costello was driving north in the Diamond Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center parking lot about 1:50 p.m. when he suffered a medical event and lost control of his 2012 Dodge Journey.
The Journey collided with a parked and unoccupied 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, which sustained minor damage.
Costello was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
