Floral City will celebrate its own Strawberry Festival this weekend.
The popular annual Floral City Strawberry Festival will start with the Berries, Brew & BBQ celebration tonight.
Berries, Brew & BBQ will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Floral City’s downtown square. Guests will enjoy food from the Agricultural Alliance of Citrus County, shortcake from Ferris Farms and beverages from the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce. (Beer, soda and water will be available.) Live entertainment will round out the festivities.
Admission is fee.
The Floral City Strawberry Festival itself will begin Saturday at Floral Park (9530 S. Parkside Avenue, Floral City). Festival goers will have the chance to buy berries by the flat or served up in shortcakes, pies and other perennial favorites.
More than 150 craft vendors, live entertainment, a rock climbing wall and children’s activities will fill the festival, which will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Entry to the event will cost $3 per person, with free admission for children under 12.
Visitors can take advantage of the festival's convenient shuttle service to park nearby.
Parking will be available Saturday and Sunday at the Citrus County Fairgrounds. The shuttle service from the fairgrounds will cost $1.00 per person. Additional parking and shuttle service will be available at Ferris Field and the Floral City Library.
