A Gibsonton man who was hit while riding his bicycle Sunday has died from his injuries.
Roger L. Hiers, 54, died Thursday afternoon at Bayfront Medical Center.
According to reports, Hiers was riding north on Park Street in Seminole just after 11 p.m. when he rode into the path of a van.
Hiers was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with head injuries that were described as life-threatening.
The driver of the van was not injured.
Deputies said the area where the crash occurred was not very well-lit. They also said they believe alcohol in the crash was a factor on Hier's part.
