The relative serenity of the University of Tampa campus will turn to organized chaos when the Republican National Convention descends on downtown Tampa in August.

More than 50,000 people are expected to flood into the downtown area for the massive event. Tampa Police have put together a TV spot to advise the city's college students on what expect on and off their campuses while the RNC is taking place.

“It’s a reminder for them to be aware of their surroundings and to take precaution so they don’t become victims of crime," Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor said of the video.
 
The University of Tampa Student Government Association recognizes the need for student awareness.

“I’ve had a lot of friends who have gotten jumped and stuff," sophomore Mark Patterson said. "So, I feel it’s a good idea the school is trying to make the students feel safe
 
When it comes down to it, students said they're glad the city and their school are putting their safety first.

The complete Tampa Police PSA will run as a trailer before on-campus movies. It will also be posted on the schools website, making it easily accessible to students at all times.
