A sporty elephant has been added to the herd.

Sponsored by the Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation, "Puckyderm" will be part of an exhibit for the Republican National Convention.

The elephant is dressed as a goaltender in the Lightning's blue home jersey, featuring a goalie mask with a 20th Anniversary logo.

Attentive fans will notice a silhouette of a Stanley Cup in the Elephant's eye, in homage to the team's incredible 2004 Championship season.

"Puckyderm" will be prominently displayed at Channelside Bay Plaza, the downtown Tampa "Herd" location for the project.

The "Herd About Tampa Bay" project is a collaboration between the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee and the Outdoor Arts Foundation.

Throughout August and early September, close to 30 Elephants will be displayed at two main "Herd" locations; the Main Transfer Level at Tampa International Airport and Channelside Bay Plaza in downtown Tampa.

Additional Elephants can be seen at patrons' places of business such as Datz in South Tampa, the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront and the Plaza Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach.

Tampa artist and long-time Lightning fan Marlon Huynh was drafted to design and embellish the player/pachyderm.
