It’s still unclear who's going to foot the bill for Citrus County's lawsuit with Progress Energy.

According to our partners at the Chronicle, the county commission and school district have each pledged $175,000 to cover the legal fight.

But the two boards have different plans on how to pay for the assessment of the Crystal River Energy Plant.

The county says Progress owes millions of dollars in unpaid taxes.

Progress Energy filed a lawsuit against the county, alleging the company has been forced to pay too much in taxes over the past several years.

Fees for the defense of the lawsuit have already topped $100,000.
