A large scrap metal fire in the Port of Tampa has been put out.

Officials said the fire was orginially two to three stories high at Trademark Metals Recycling located at 4201 Maritime Blvd.

Crews used foam in order to reach deep-seated fire pockets that may be confined in the bottom of the pile, officials said.

Workers are using cranes to diassemble the large pile of metal scrap in case of any potential hot spots.

The fire was extinguished around 7:40 p.m.

There are no reported injuries.
