An investigation into the 2009 death of Sheena Morris in a Bradenton Beach hotel room found no foul play, officials said.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the investigation found no evidence of a homicide.

Parents Kelly Osborn and Dave Morris are still not convinced.

"Justice has not been served," said Osborn.

Morris, 22, was found dead hanging from a shower in the Bridge Walk Resort in Bradenton Beach on New Year's Day 2009.

"It’s been a tough 5 years,” said father Dave Morris. “Not the easiest things we've been through."

Investigators ruled Sheena Morris's death a suicide in 2009, but Morris's mother Kelly Osborn fought to get state agents to review the case after she insisted that Morris's fiance Joe Genoese was responsible for her daughter's death.

"When this all started I was cautiously optimistic, but I guess that was the right term to be using to wonder how we got FDLE to investigate but I don't know who that investigation was for," said Osborn.

Osborn said the Bradenton Beach Police Department, which was the lead agency on Morris' death, had closed the case without an adequate investigation.

Osborn thinks the new investigation only took place to quiet her down and prove law enforcement was right all along. She says no matter what they say, she’ll never believe her daughter took her own life.

"I believe Sheena was murdered and there is still a murderer out there," said Osborn.

Morris' parents say despite not agreeing on why their daughter died, they are no longer going to fight it. Instead they say they will focus their energy on helping other families in need.
