J.C. Penney's Department Store is leaving the Crystal River Mall.

According to Bay News 9's Partner Newspaper, the Citrus County Chronicle, the store will close August 3.

The store manager told the Chronicle, they will be working with neighboring J.C. Penney stores to find jobs for employees who worked at the Crystal River location.

"Everyone was made aware last week," Manager Angela Anderson told the Chronicle. "I was surprised by the decision. But certainly I can understand and respect it."

J.C. Penney is the second department store to close at the Crystal River Mall in the last year.
