Deputies say a Pasco County school bus driver tried to get a teenage student to send him nude photos.

Paul John King, 49, is facing one count of use of a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child, and one count of transmitting information harmful to a minor.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, King allegedly attempted to get the 16-year-old girl, who rides his bus, to send him nude photos of herself. Deputies said he also sent her graphic sexual texts, and that the incidents occurred between Oct. 13 and Nov. 5

Investigators believe those messages were being sent at night, not during school hours.

Deputies said they don't believe the girl sent him any photos. She reported the incidents to her school resource officer at Anclote High School, officials said.

King was booked into the Pasco County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.

Christine Massa and her daughter are a little bit unsettled about the news of King's arrest.

“My kids are not allowed on the bus because of these reasons,” said Massa.

“I’m frightened now because I really don’t know who I can trust, it’s wrong, like I don’t want to ride a bus no more,” said her daughter, Samantha.

King drove the bus for elementary, middle and high school students and has worked for the district almost 10 years. King is no longer driving a bus for Pasco County Schools. Leaders took him off the road Thursday and suspended him just before his arrest.

Deputies are asking anyone who may have been solicited by King to contact the sheriff's office.
