The man whose body washed up on Clearwater Beach Friday morning was a cruise ship worker who went missing several days ago.

According to Clearwater police, 27-year-old Cliford B. Minej was a worker on a Holland America Line Ryndam cruise ship that was returning to port in Tampa.

He was reported missing from the ship that returned to Tampa on Dec. 21. It is believed he jumped or fell from the ship near Egmont Key.

Minej's body washed ashore at 7:15 a.m. behind the Ultimar Condos in the 1500 block of Gulf Boulevard. Authorities said Minej's last known residence was in Thane, India.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office said there is no foul play involved in the death.
