Democrat Charlie Crist boarded a school bus Wednesday for a three-day tour on which he is criticizing Republican Rick Scott for cutting education spending in his first year as governor.

Crist must defeat little-known former State Sen. Nan Rich in the Aug. 26 primary to get a shot at Scott in November. Both Crist and Scott have been campaigning as though their matchup is a sealed deal, though.

Although Crist is expected to easily win the primary, a solid showing by Rich could raise questions about whether Democrats will turn out in force for Crist in the general election.

The three-day tour kicked off Wednesday with a press conference in Tallahassee and a bus ride to Jacksonville. It will continue with stops in Orlando and Tampa on Thursday and Miami on Friday.
