The 5-year-old Tampa girl who police say was dropped to her death last week by her father off of a Pinellas County bridge is being remembered today.

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Phoebe Jonchuck.

A little more than 100 mourners, some in bright-colored clothing (Phoebe's favorite), gathered at the Lake Magdalene Methodist Church in Carrollwood. She will be buried at Lake Carroll Cemetery Wednesday afternoon.

Phoebe's Cleveland Elementary teacher spoke at the service. She said the little girl loved school and told the mourners Phoebe's classmates continue to blow her kisses and say she is in "cloud school."

Phoebe's grandmother also spoke at the service.

Phoebe's father, John Jonchuck, is accused of dropping the girl to her death off the southbound approach to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Jan. 8. A grand jury will determine his exact charges.

Meanwhile, the Department of Children and Families is making policy changes following the little girl’s death.

Donations may be made in Phoebe's name to Cleveland Elementary School, 723 E. Hamilton Avenue, Tampa, FL 33604. For information, call 813-276-5583.
