A 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of West Waters Avenue and Riverwood Boulevard.

Deputies said the boy was riding his bicycle when a vehicle at the intersection turned and struck him.

The boy, a student at the Hillsborough Academy of Math and Science, received minor abrasions to his hands and was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital to be checked out.

The driver was not cited.
