A pedestrian died Sunday when he was hit by a truck as he tried to cross U.S. 19 in Holiday.
The crash happened at 5:59 p.m. near the intersection with Mile Stretch Drive.
Troopers say Gerald Gillett, 50, of Holiday, was trying to cross the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 when he stepped into the path of an oncoming 2003 Chevrolet pick-up truck.
Gillett was taken to Florida Hospital Pinellas, where he died from his injuries.
No further information was released.
