A Polk County family is happy to be alive after a car came crashing through their living room early Thursday morning.

"I jumped up out of my bed and just as I was walking into the living room, I heard a loud rev, like an engine revving very loudly and suddenly I saw this vehicle crashing right into my living room," homeowner Linda Williams said.

Linda and her daughters Rebecca and Elizabeth were inside of the home on Misty Lake Road in Mulberry. The crash left the home with a gaping hole in the front door, the wall knocked down and the Christmas tree and presents destroyed.

"I lived here for 23 years, the wall is gone and the Christmas tree is crushed," said Rebecca, who lives at the home.

Even though the Christmas tree and presents are damaged, the family is focused on forgiving the driver and being thankful no one was hurt.

"I'm thankful me and my family are OK," said Elizabeth Dyer, who also lives at the home. "I'm also thankful the person who hit our house is OK."

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.

The family is looking for help covering their deductible following the crash. They've set up a GoFundMe account.
