Doctors say the man accused of throwing his daughter off a Bay area bridge is mentally incompetent.

Two doctors told Pinellas County circuit judge Christine Hellinger Tuesday morning that John Jonchuck is "mentally incompetent."

There was no ruling on that decision from Hellinger. Any case against Jonchuck won't continue until the court is confident Jonchuck understands the charges and case against him.

Meanwhile, the State Attorney's Office said there will be a third mental health examination on Jonchuck Feb. 17.

Phoebe Jonchuck, 5, died Jan. 8 after being dropped off the southbound approach to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Authorities say it was her father, John that dropped her off the bridge.

John Jonchuck remains jailed on a murder charge.

He has a lengthy criminal history, including arrests for domestic violence, battery and stalking charges.
