A 23-year-old man was shot Wednesday night as he rode his motorcycle through a Tampa neighborhood.
According to police, the shooting happened at 8:15 p.m. near Carioca Court and East 21st Avenue.
After being shot multiple times, Jarrod Coachman crashed on his motorcycle. Officials said he is in guarded condition at Tampa General Hospital.
An investigation is ongoing, but neighbors reported hearing several shots.
Police said the shots could have been fired from one of the homes along the roadway. Officials also said it is unknown if the gunman knows Coachman or if the shooting was random.
Coachman, who has police at his hospital door for his own protection, is cooperating with authorities. Still, officials said he may not be able to fully assist in the investigation until he is recovered.
