The body of a 23-year-old who went missing in Winter Haven's Lake Eloise on Thursday has been recovered.

Search and rescue crews found the remains of Hense Williams in the lake around 10 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses had said he jumped off a boat into the lake and had trouble swimming.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies had responded to a call at 7 p.m. Thursday and learned that two other people on the boat tried to help Williams, but he went under water and never surfaced.

Lake Eloise is as deep as 130 plus feet in some spots. Family members said he would never have gone into any water where his feet couldn’t touch the ground.
