Each time the Tampa Thunder Power Soccer team straps up in their powered wheelchairs, they players are ready to take on anything that comes their way.

"When I'm out there competing, the only thing that's going through my mind is the next ball coming at me," player Tyler Hernandez said.

Hernandez and his teammates are taking on the top power soccer teams in the nation, in hopes of earning the title of 2015 Premier Cup champions.

“The adrenaline you get when you're playing soccer is just ridiculously different," said player Ben Carpenter. "There's a certain level of intensity that you don't get in any other area of expertise."

And their intensity is known across the country because Hernandez and Carpenter were chosen for the 2016 U.S. National Power Soccer Team.

“I’ve always known I wanted to play for team USA; it's always been a dream of mine and the dream is coming true," Tyler said.

“I was very excited and the first thing that jumped into my head was, there's a lot of work that I've got to get done,” Ben said.

In between their travels, the two players put in work with the home team getting ready for the next level.

“Being on the court with them is an awesome experience, whether it's setting up plays, scoring goals. ... It's all for the fun of it, but we want to win," Tyler said.
