Reports of Bubble Wrap's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
The Wall Street Journal reports Sealed Air Corp., the original seller of Bubble Wrap, is making a new version of the product. iBubble Wrap is sold in flast plastic sheets that is then filled with air using a custom-made pump.
And the bubbles don't burst.
Sealed Air's new product is meant to appeal to space-conscious online retailers.
But Mashable.com and other media outlets reported the end of Bubble Wrap, starting off a social media firestorm from bubble-popping fans fearing their last satisfying pop was nigh.
We spoke to Meredith Rigdon with Bubble Wrap, and she assured us the product that has been around since the 1950s will live on, even though sales have deflated in the last few years.
Bubble Wrap has also been trying to fight the false reports on Twitter.
