A motorcyclist injured earlier this week after he crashed into a guardrail has died.

According to officials, Zachery Myers, 31, of Spring Hill, was critically injured Wednesday evening while traveling on Little Road approaching U.S. 19.

He failed to negotiate a left curve and went off the road. The motorcycle then collided with the guardrail, throwing Myers from the bike.

Myers was transported to and treated at Bayonet Point Hospital. He died from his injuries Thursday.

Officials say Myers was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash, and the incident was not alcohol related.

In October 2015, Myers' wife Jenn passed away due to a heart condition. The couple leaves behind an 8-year-old son and a 1-year-old son.

“[Myers} really wanted to make himself a better person so he could provide for those boys,” said Karen Jones, Myers' mother. “Precious boys who are just so innocent and it’s just so sad that they’ll not know their mother and their father.”
