Troopers are investigating a hit-and-run that left a homeless woman in critical condition in Pasco County.
The crash happened at 9:42 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 301 near the intersection with Palm Grove Drive in Zephyrhills.
Troopers say Shirley Catron, 55, was walking south on the grass shoulder of U.S. 301 when she tried to cross the road and walked into the path of a pick-up truck that was turning right.
After the crash, the truck fled the scene, troopers said.
Catron was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses describe the truck that hit Catron as a white Ford F-150 or F-250 with four doors.
