Folks at the Humane Society of the Nature Coast in Hernando County need some help.

Someone broke into their Brooksville facility late last month and took two puppies.

Since then, the boxer mix puppies have been reunited with their littermates. About a week ago, Humane Society personnel posted video of the person who broke in and took the pups. Soon after, they were returned.

But the problem with security at the Brooksville location remains.

Executive Director Barbara Sprague says they need a better security system, and they need help from the community to make that happen.

"We have been here since 1964 on a large campus," said Sprague, "and the only security measures we really have are door locks and an old security camera."

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says the case is still under investigation. No arrest has been made yet.

By the way, those puppies and their mom will be up for adoption in about a month.
