Tampa Police are investigating a fatal shooting involving a 17-month-old child.

Officials said the shooting occurred Sunday at the Clipper Bay Apartments near the 6700 block of S. Lois Avenue in Tampa.
The child was identified Monday as Amaya Shafi.
Police received a 911 call at 4:12 p.m. regarding an injured toddler.
Investigators have determined that Shafi suffered a single gunshot wound. Police said her parents took her to a hospital, where she died.
Officers said the handgun was owned by a family member. They are investigating to see whether the shooting was accidental.
No arrests have been made.
