TheTampa Bay Buccaneers have released tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins after he was arrested early Friday on DUI charges.
The Buccaneers confirmed the release Friday afternoon. Seferian-Jenkins sent a tweet at 1:59pm Friday saying "Thank you TB! Next chapter."

“We are very disappointed in today’s news,” said General Manager Jason Licht. “After careful consideration, we felt this was the right decision at this time.”
Seferian-Jenkins was stopped by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper just after 4 a.m. in Tampa.
Officials said Seferian-Jenkins was stopped after entering southbound I-275 near SR-60 and traveling at 75-80 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour speed zone.
Trooper Tabarie Sullivan said Seferian-Jenkins made an improper lane change, cutting him off, and was weaving back and forth.
He was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and booked into jail. Troopers said he refused a breath test once at the Hillsborough County Jail.

Seferian-Jenkins is also facing a second count of violation of misdemeanor charge of violating a court-ordered Ignition Interlock Device restriction from a 2013 DUI while he was at the University of Washington.
A 2nd-round draft pick for the Bucs in 2014, Seferian-Jenkins caught a touchdown pass in the Bucs season-opening win at Atlanta.
The Bucs play their home opener Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Los Angeles Rams.
