Tampa Police are searching for one of two bicyclists after shots were fired during a traffic stop early Wednesday.

According to officers, the traffic stop involved two people on bicycles at Central Avenue and Floribraska Avenue just after midnight. 

During the traffic stop, one person produced a gun and fired shots at officers, according to police. No officers were injured. Officials said two guns were found at the scene. 

Police returned fire before one of the people, 19-year-old Israel Magwood, was apprehended. The second person escaped and is being sought. 

Magwood has been charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling, resisting an officer without violence and loitering and/or prowling. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Police said Magwood is not being cooperative but authorities said they likely know the identity of the second person. 

An investigation is ongoing.
