Two pedestrians suffered serious injuries in separate crashes Friday night in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, according to police.

In Clearwater, investigators are currently on the scene of the crash, which occurred in the intersection of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Sky Harbor Drive.

The pedestrian was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area. Westbound lanes of Gulf-to-Bay are especially affected.

The crash in St. Petersburg occurred at 4th Avenue North and 34th Street at 8:17 p.m., according to the St. Petersburg Police.

The pedestrian reportedly suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

A St. Petersburg Police Homicide investigator has been called to the scene to investigate the accident. Officials said the intersection will remain closed for several hours.
