The Young Leaders Alliance of Citrus County organized a two-day camp for middle and high-schoolers to learn life skills. It's called Life Camp, and is being held May 17 and 18.

  • Students learn about banking, realty, government
  • Camp now in its 3rd year
  • Learn more on their Facebook page

The students had the chance to learn about banking from Brannen Bank, reality from the Relator’s Association, and government from Inverness City Hall.

Edward Jones, Cattle Dog Roasters, Newman Strategy group and Withlacoochee Technical College also participated.

The Young Leaders Alliance hopes these lessons will help the students excel after graduation.

"It kind of gives them a look at, like, this is going to happen -- we're growing up," Junior Breanna Flanagan said. "And you're going to have to learn how to buy a house soon, how you know going to the bank works. And it's good because it gives us a look at like how we're going to become adults."

This is the third year this Life Camp has been put on by the organization.
