TAMPA, Fla. -- A 22-year-old FedEx driver was killed in a Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 4 in Tampa.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the driver as Lazaro Villarreal-Santana.

He was operating a truck on eastbound I-4, not far from U.S. 301, when one of the vehicle's tires blew out, troopers said.

Villarreal-Santana lost control of the truck, which collided with another vehicle, according to FHP.

His vehicle continued into the median, collided with the guardrail and overturned.

Troopers said Villarreal-Santana died at the crash scene.

An outside lane was open to eastbound traffic shortly before 1 p.m.
