Tampa, Fla. -- A boil water notice has been lifted for residents in the area of Rome Avenue.

Test results show the water is safe for drinking and preparing food without boiling, according to the Tampa Water Department.

The notice was first issued after a water main break last week.

Rome Avenue, however, remains closed from West Hillsborough Avenue to West Burke Street while crews complete roadway restoration.

Drivers are urged to use caution when driving through the area.

Officials expect the roadway to reopen by Tuesday.
