SEMINOLE, Fla. -- A fire broke out at a home in Seminole Tuesday night, causing heavy fire damage to the garage.

The Seminole Fire Department was called out to the home at 12126 101st Avenue, North around 11:35 p.m. 

Crews said the homeowner and his wife were home with their 5-year-old grandson when the fire started. The couple said they smelled smoke coming from the garage. When the husband went to investigate he said the door leading to the garage was warm to the touch and when he cracked it, heavy smoke and fire were visible in the garage. 

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes. Officials said no one was injured in the fire. 

The garage suffered heavy fire damage and a part of the home suffered smoke and water damage. 

Fire crews said the fire does appear to be suspicious, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
