SPRING HILL, Fla. — A Hernando County hazmat team is on the scene of a Spring Hill home after deputies were exposed to an unknown substance upon searching it.

According to a news release, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office deputies were trying to serve a felony warrant at a home on 7031 Holiday Drive.

Upon permission to search the home, deputies said they were exposed to a mysterious substance in air, and they immediately exited the house.

Five of the responding deputies said they became lightheaded, and they were treated on scene by Hernando County Fire Rescue.

The two individuals found inside the home were detained by authorities and were also treated on scene for similar symptoms.

Deputies say they did not located the wanted person inside the home.

The hazmat team is trying to identify the substance.
