BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — For a lot of parents, picking up their kids from school is part of their daily routine. But one mom in Hernando County has come up with a way to make it just a bit more fun.

  • Brooksville mom picks up son from school in a unique way
  • Horses are a big part of Katie Tremblay and her family's life
  • KT's Natural Horsemanship

Horses have always been a big part of Katie Tremblay's life.

"Being able to have a bond with something that speaks a completely different language is really something that amazes me," Tremblay said.

She started her own business, KT’s Natural Horsemanship, where she trains horses. When she had her son Jason, she wanted to teach him to ride too.

"I had him on his first horse two or three months old," she explained.

He fell in love with riding, so much so he wanted to ride his horse home from school. Tremblay thought it was a great idea.

"It's personal time I really like enjoying time with my son and it's something we do a lot together," she said.

So now from time to time, students at Eastside Elementary in the Hill ‘N Dale community may see some special visitors in the pickup line as Jason hops on his saddle instead of buckling into a seat.

"I like it! It's fun!" Tremblay’s son Jason Peyton said.

"Honestly I love getting out in that community. There's not a lot of kids out there that get to see these type of things," Tremblay added.

Tremblay said while she recently started bringing the horses to pick Jason up, she plans to keep doing it as often as she can.
